Diabetes Learning in Virtual Environments Just in Time for Community Reentry

Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1 ยท Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

The proposed study will use a randomized clinical trial design with non-equivalent control group and longitudinal design to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effects of the Diabetes LIVE JustICE application. The design will incorporate repeated measures at 0, 6, and 12 weeks. Outcome variables will include recruitment assessments, participation, engagement, user experience, and measures proximally related to behavior change - e.g., diabetes knowledge, diabetes-related distress, diabetes self-care, and social support and clinical outcomes -e.g., glycemic control. Focus group interviewing will be conducted to evaluate acceptability among intervention group participants.

Reversibility of Brain Glucose Transport in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM)

Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the effects of high blood glucose levels in the brain and assess if the changes seen in individuals with poorly control T2DM can be reversed with good glucose control. The main question\[s\] it aims to answer are: * To determine, whether abnormalities in brain glucose transport seen in individuals with uncontrolled diabetes, can be improved with better glucose control. * Assess which factors, (duration of diabetes mellitus (DM) and glycemic control) contribute to changes in glucose transport Participants will have: * A screening visit * placement of a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) 2 weeks before the first magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) at week 0 * Additional visits/phone calls for intensification of diabetes management and nutrition visits * Second magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) at week 12

Effect of the Thrive AI Health App on Lifestyle Behaviors and Quality of Life

Diabetes Type 2 ยท Overweight or Obesity

The goals of this randomized trial is to learn: 1. If the Thrive AI Health app will help adults improve their everyday habits (diet, exercise, and sleep). 2. How often participants will use the Thrive AI Health app to which they will have free access The Thrive AI Health app uses artificial intelligence (AI) to give personalized advice. It is designed to help people eat better, exercise more, manage stress, and sleep well. Researchers will compare changes in diet, exercise and sleep in participants using the app to those participants not using the app. Participants will complete study questionnaires and an in-person visit at the beginning and end of the study.

GATEWAY: Safety Evaluation of the MiniMedโ„ข NMX8-AID System in Children and Adults Living With Diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus ยท Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

The purpose of this study is to check that a new insulin pump, called NMX8, is safe when used with a continuous glucose monitoring sensor called Disposable Sensor 5/Simplera Sync in people with diabetes. The study will include people with Type 1 diabetes who are 7-85 years old and people with Type 2 diabetes who are 18-85 years old. Participants will use their current therapy while also wearing the DS5/Simplera sensor for up to 40 days. During this time, they will complete a meal and exercise log. Participants will then be placed into one of three groups by chance and given the NMX8 pump to use for about 90 days. During this time, participants will bolus, not bolus, or bolus at will for meals and continue to complete a meal and exercise log depending on the group they are in. Once their part in the study is over, if participants like the pump and want to keep using it, they may be able to join a Continued Access Period to keep using the NMX8 pump.

EASi-PROTKTโ„ข - A Study to Test Vicadrostat (BI 690517) Taken Together With Empagliflozin in People With Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, and Cardiovascular Disease

Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2 ยท Hypertension ยท Cardiovascular Diseases

This study is open to adults with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease. People can join the study if they have these conditions and do not have a history of heart failure. The purpose of this study is to find out if a medicine called vicadrostat, when taken with empagliflozin, helps reduce cardiovascular risk in people with these conditions. The study will compare this combination to a placebo version of vicadrostat with empagliflozin. Participants are put into 2 groups randomly, which means by chance. One group takes vicadrostat and empagliflozin tablets, and the other group takes placebo tablets with empagliflozin. Placebo tablets look like vicadrostat tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants take a tablet once per day for 2 and a half years and up to 4 years and 3 months. All participants also continue their medication for type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease. Participants have an equal chance of receiving the study medicine or placebo. Participants are in the study for up to 4 years and 3 months. During this time, they visit the study site regularly. During these visits, doctors collect information about participants' health and take blood samples. The doctors document when participants experience cardiovascular events. The doctors also regularly check participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects.

Registry for Stage 2 Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes

Stage 2 Type 1 Diabates (T1D) is an early stage of T1D characterized by dysglycemia but not yet leading to clinical symptoms. Progression of the disease to Stage 3 (clinical T1D), leads to overt hyperglycemia requiring eventually exogenous insulin. TZIELDยฎ (teplizumab-mzwv) has been approved to delay onset of stage 3 T1D, by the United States (US) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for adults and children aged 8 years and older with Stage 2 T1D. The purpose of this study is to collect general information on patients with stage 2 T1D and further information on the long-term effects of TZIELDยฎ in patients with Stage 2 T1D, treated as per standard of care.
